The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has received an Indent for filling up vacancies in Health and Medical Education Department, Jammu and Kashmir under direct recruitment, as per the details indicated below:

Terms and Conditions
1. Appointment of Candidates
Appointments and service conditions shall be governed by the existing rules and regulations of the Government of UT of Jammu & Kashmir.
2. Domicile
Applicants must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and possess a valid Domicile Certificate on or before the cut-off date (25 March 2026).
3. Vacancies
The number of posts may increase or decrease during or before the completion of the selection process. JKSSB shall not be legally liable for such variations.
4. Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)
Open Merit: 40 years
SC/ST/RBA/ALC-IB/EWS/OBC: 43 years
PwBD: 42 years
Ex-Servicemen: 48 years

5. Educational Qualification
Qualifications are as prescribed in Annexure-A.
Candidates must possess the required qualification on or before the cut-off date.
Equivalence certificates must be produced where applicable.
6. Reservation Policy
Reservation shall apply as per the Jammu & Kashmir Reservation Act/Rules. Reserved category candidates must upload valid certificates at the time of application.
7. Horizontal Reservation
Applicable for Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs) as per extant rules.
8. Application Fee
General Category: Rs. 600/-
SC/ST/EWS/PwBD: Rs. 500/-
Fee is payable online only and is non-refundable.
9. Examination Details
Date, time, and examination centres will be notified separately on the JKSSB website.
10. Scheme of Examination
Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Negative marking: 1/4th mark for each wrong answer
11. Syllabus
The syllabus will be notified separately on the JKSSB website.
12. Admission to Examination
Admission will be provisional. Eligibility will be verified during Document Verification.
13. Compensatory Time and Scribe Facility
PwBD candidates may avail compensatory time and/or scribe facility subject to submission of required certificates (Annexure-B and Annexure-C).
14. Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates must produce original documents along with self-attested copies at the time of verification.
15. Misconduct and Malpractice
Any form of misconduct or use of prohibited electronic devices will lead to disqualification and penal action.
16. Fairness and Transparency
JKSSB reserves the right to take necessary steps to ensure fairness and transparency in the selection process.
17. Important Instructions to Candidates
Candidates are advised to carefully read all instructions before applying. No changes will be allowed after submission of the application.
18. Online Application Procedure
Applications must be submitted online only. Detailed instructions will be available on the JKSSB website.
19. In-Service Candidates
In-service candidates must submit applications through proper channel.
20. Finality of Board’s Decision
The decision of the Board in all matters shall be final and binding.
