Vacancy Details:
This notification aims to fill 61 vacancies in the Home Department under UT Cadre posts.
1) Assistant Scientific Officer (Documents) : 02
2) Assistant Scientific Officer (Crime Scene) : 23
3) Assistant Superintendent Jail : 02
4) Computer Assistant : 01
5) Laboratory Attendants : 32
6) Assistant Scientific Officer (Chemistry and Toxicology) : 01
Eligibility Criteria:
For eligibility, candidates must meet the required educational and professional qualifications for each post.
For Assistant Scientific Officer (Chemistry and Toxicology), a Master’s in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or Forensic Science with at least 50 percent marks is required.
For Assistant Scientific Officer (Documents), candidates need a Master’s in Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Forensic Science with minimum 50 percent marks.
For Assistant Scientific Officer (Crime Scene), candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Forensic Science. For Assistant Superintendent Jail, candidates need Graduation along with a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or Criminology. Male candidates must have a height of at least 5 feet 6 inches with chest 32–33.5 inches while female candidates must have a minimum height of 5 feet 2 inches.
For Computer Assistant, a one-year diploma in Computer Applications, B.Sc. IT, BCA, or a three-year diploma in Computer Applications from an AICTE recognized institute is needed.
For Laboratory Attendant, candidates must have passed 10+2 in the Science stream with Mathematics or Biology as a subject.
How to Apply:
Applications must be submitted online at the JKSSB official portal from 4 August to 2 September 2025.
Selection Process:
The selection process includes a written or OMR-based examination for most posts.
For Assistant Superintendent Jail, a Physical Standard Test is also mandatory.
There will be no interview or oral test for the posts of Assistant Scientific Officer and Assistant Superintendent Jail.
