Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri invites applications from eligible doctors (PSC and Non-PSC) who are permanent residents/domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir for engagement as Senior Resident / Registrar in various disciplines.

The engagement will be purely on Academic Arrangement basis initially for one year, which may be extended up to a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory performance.

Selection will be conducted as per the guidelines issued by the Administrative Department, Health & Medical Education, J&K and the National Medical Commission (NMC).

The eligibility and selection criteria will be governed by Government Order No. 383-JK(HME) of 2024 dated 20.06.2024.

Salary :

For PSC (In-service) Candidates

Instructions for In-Service (PSC) Candidates

Candidates must obtain prior permission from the Administrative Department before applying.

Applications must be routed through the Administrative Department.

An advance copy of the application must also be submitted to the Principal, GMC Rajouri.

Selected candidates will be allowed to join only after being relieved from their department.

Applications must include self-attested copies of the following:

Date of Birth Certificate (10th certificate or equivalent)

MBBS mark sheets and degree certificate

MD / MS / DNB / DM / MCh / Diploma qualification certificates

Attempt certificates for all MBBS professional exams

NMC / MCI / State Medical Council Registration Certificate

Internship Completion Certificate

Distinction / Honours / Scholarships / Medals (if any)

House Job / Junior Residency certificate

FMGE certificate (for candidates with foreign MBBS degree)

Research publications in recognized medical journals (if any)

NOC from Administrative Department (for in-service candidates)

Terms and Conditions :

Selection will be made by the Selection Committee constituted under Government Order No. 382-JK(HME) of 2024 dated 20.06.2024.

The maximum tenure is three years and no extension will be granted beyond this period.

Appointment is purely on tenure basis and does not guarantee regular appointment.

Candidates who have already completed or left Senior Residency/Registrarship midway are not eligible to apply.

The appointment will remain provisional until verification of documents.

Submission of false information or documents will lead to cancellation of candidature and legal action.

Service Conditions :

Selected candidates must submit an affidavit attested by a Judicial Magistrate confirming that they will serve the entire tenure and will not leave the residency mid-way.

If a candidate wishes to resign, they must provide one month’s prior notice through the concerned Head of Department.

Failure to do so will require deposit of one month’s salary with the institution.
