Applications are invited from eligible candidates, in pursuance to J&K LSA communication no. JKLSA/LS/22/2021/1570-72 dated 25.08.2025, who are domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir for engagement of Para Legal Volunteers in terms of Para Legal Volunteer Scheme (Revised) at District Jammu.

1. Eligible Categories :
Applications shall be invited from the categories prescribed under the scheme which include:
i. Teachers (including retired teachers)
ii. Retired Government Servants
iii. Senior Citizens
iv. MSW (Masters in Social Welfare) Students and Teachers
v. Anganwadi Workers
vi. Doctors/Physicians
vii. Students and Law Students (till enrolment as Advocates)
viii. Members of non-political service-oriented NGOs/Clubs
ix. Women Neighbourhood Groups
x. Self Help Groups (including marginalized/vulnerable groups)
xi. Educated Prisoners with good conduct serving long-term sentence
xii. Any other persons deemed fit by the DLSA/TLSC
Terms of Engagement :
It must be clearly mentioned that the work of PLVs does not carry any salary, remuneration or wages and that only honorarium as fixed by the J&K LSA from time to time shall be payable.
3. Method of Selection :
The selection committee is entitled to use its discretion and shortlist the number of candidates received. Preference shall be given to women candidates while considering the applications, and adequate representation shall be ensured from SC/ST, minority and other backward classes, in accordance with the Para Legal Volunteers Scheme (Revised).
How to Apply :
Interested candidates may submit their application form (as per the format provided below as Annexure-A) along with self-attested copies of all the educational and experience certificates (if any) in the Office of District Legal Services Authority Jammu. No other mode of submission shall be entertained.
