Eligibility Criteria :

Candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria for education and age. Educational Qualification (Expected) :

The qualification varies for Generalist and Specialist posts.

 

For AM (RDBS) – General:

A Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks (SC/ST/PWBD applicants – 55%) in aggregate.

OR Post Graduate degree, MBA/PGDM with a minimum of 55% marks (SC/ST/PWBD applicants – 50%) in aggregate.

OR CA/CS/ICWA or Ph.D from a recognized institution.

 

For AM (RDBS) – Specialist Posts:

Candidates will need a specific Bachelor’s or Post Graduate degree relevant to their discipline (like Agriculture, Finance, Computer/IT, Civil Engineering, etc.) with the minimum percentage of marks as specified in the detailed notice.

 

For AM (Legal Service):

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB or LLM) with a minimum percentage of marks from a recognized university.

 

For AM (Protocol & Security Service):

This post generally has specific eligibility, often requiring experience as an officer in the Army/Navy/Air Force or a similar paramilitary force.

 

Age Limit (Expected) :

Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years of age.

Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided for reserved categories as per government rules:

OBC: 3 years

SC/ST: 5 years

Salary and Benefits :

A career as a Grade A Officer in NABARD is financially rewarding. The starting basic pay is Rs. 44,500/- p.m. on the scale of Rs. 44500-2500(4)-54500-2850(7)-74450-EB-2850(4)-85850-3300(1)-89150 (17 Years). At present, the initial monthly gross emoluments are approximately Rs. 1,00,000/-.

This “Pay Level” scale means your basic pay increases by Rs. 2,500 every year for the first 4 years, and so on. But the salary is much more than just basic pay. Officers are eligible for numerous allowances, which significantly boost the in-hand salary. These include:

Dearness Allowance (DA): This is adjusted periodically to offset the impact of inflation.

House Rent Allowance (HRA): Provided if you don’t take the bank’s accommodation.

Local Compensatory Allowance (LCA): Varies depending on the city of posting.

Grade Allowance (GA): An additional allowance for Grade A officers.

Other major perks include bank’s accommodation (subject to availability), reimbursement for vehicle maintenance, newspaper, internet, and telephone charges, a book grant, and an allowance for furnishing your residence. You also get excellent medical benefits (dispensary and OPD/hospitalization reimbursement), Leave Travel Concession (LTC), and access to loans for housing, car, and education at concessional interest rates. Furthermore, you will be enrolled in the New Pension Scheme (NPS) with contributions from the bank.

 

Selection Process Explained :

The selection for NABARD Grade A is a three-phase process designed to test candidates on a wide range of skills. The process typically consists of:

Phase I: Preliminary Examination (Online – Objective)

Phase II: Main Examination (Online – Objective + Descriptive)

Phase III: Psychometric Test & Interview

Phase I: Preliminary Examination

This is a qualifying exam. Marks scored here are not counted for the final merit list, but you must clear the cut-offs.

  • Total Marks: 200
  • Total Time: 120 minutes (Composite time)
  • Merit Section (used for shortlisting): General Awareness, Eco & Soc. Issues (ESI), and Agriculture & Rural Development (ARD).
  • Qualifying Section (must clear cut-offs): Test of Reasoning, English Language, Computer Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude, and Decision Making.

Phase II: Main Examination

This is the most crucial stage, as these marks (along with the interview) decide your final selection.

  • Paper I: General English: This is an online descriptive paper (typing on a keyboard) testing essay writing, précis, and comprehension. It is common for all posts.
  • Paper II (Generalist – RDBS): This paper covers Economic & Social Issues (ESI) and Agriculture & Rural Development (ARD). It will have both objective (MCQ) and descriptive questions (answers to be typed).
  • Paper II (Specialist – Legal, P&SS): This paper will be based on the candidate’s specific discipline. It will also have both objective and descriptive questions.

Phase III: Psychometric Test & Interview

  • Psychometric Test: Candidates shortlisted from the Main exam will have to take a mandatory psychometric test.
  • Interview: This is the final stage. The interview panel assesses your personality, communication skills, and knowledge. The final merit list is prepared based on the combined marks of the Phase II Main Exam and the Interview.
