In pursuance to Govt. Order No. 383-JK(HME) of 2024 dated 20.06.2024, applications are invited from the eligible candidates (possessing requisite qualification as per latest Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations, as notified by the National Medical Commission in the concerned discipline or having appeared in the final examination of the Postgraduate course) for the engagement of tenured posts of Senior Residents and Tutors in the following disciplines of Govt. Medical College, Jammu.
● The Application Form together with instructions for filling up the Application Forms will be available at the website of the College from 10/10/2024.
● Candidates are advised to go through the instructions and all the eligibility conditions prescribed for the post before filing the Application Form.
● Last date for submitting of application complete in all respects along with the requisite fee (through email [email protected]) is 31/10/2024.
● The last date for receipt of applications provided in notification shall be the cut-off date for determining the eligibility.
● The number of posts of Sr. Residents / Tutors available in the department shall depend on the number of vacancies to be finalized by the Selection Committee, at the time of selection.
● The candidates who have already applied for the posts of Sr. Residents / Tutors vide Advertisement issued under endtt. No. GMCJ/2024/Advertisement/675 dated 14-08-2024 needs not to apply afresh.

Requisite Qualification for applying for the above said tenured posts:
Post Qualification
1. Sr. Resident : Possessing Medical Post Graduate Degree (MD/ MS/DNB/MCh/DM)
2. Tutor : Possessing Post Graduate with MSc (Medical) Degree
The syllabus for the MCQ-based written examination will align with the National Medical Commission (NMC) Regulations and the University of Jammu guidelines in the relevant discipline.
The selection for the tenured position of Sr. Residents/Tutors in Govt. Medical College, Jammu shall be made on the basis of performance in Multiple Choice Questions(MCQ) based written Test only. The question paper will be of one hour duration having 50 questions (MCQ based) of 100 marks (2 marks each). There will be a negative marking of 0.25 per question.
All applications will be accepted only through email. No application will be accepted beyond cut-off date either online or offline. The date of the written test shall be notified separately on GMC, Jammu website. No individual communication shall be made in this regard.
The in-service candidates shall be entertained only after fulfillment of all pre-requisites, in accordance with the relevant rules, as envisaged in the J&K Civil Services Rules 1979 and production of NOC from the parent department as en visage in the Circular No. 03-HME of 2019 dated 27-05-2019.
The necessary instructions for filing up of application forms are as under :
1. Download the application form from the GMC Jammu website : www.gmcjammu.nic.in.
2. Complete the application form and make a PDF file, including all qualification documents including MBBS marks sheet of all phases and qualification certificate, MD/MS/DNB/MCh/DM qualification / degree certificates of the respective specialty in respect of medical candidates. MSc Medical Anatomy / Medical Biochemistry / Medical Physiology, qualification / degree certificate in the case of non-medical candidates, Internship Certificate, Date of Birth Certificate, NMC/Jammu and Kashmir Medical Council Registration Certificate, Domicile Certificate, No Objection Certificate (for in service candidates only), affidavit and fee receipt.
3. Candidates are required to make a payment of Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One thousand Five hundred only) as the application fee in the Account Number: 0373040100000001; IFSC Code: JAKA0MEDJAM; Bank: J&K Bank; Branch: Govt. Medical College Jammu.
4. A complete PDF containing the application form, qualification documents, and proof of fee payment should be emailed to the IT cell of GMC Jammu at [email protected] on or before 31-10-2024. In absence of the proof of fee payment, the application form shall be rejected, without any notice.

The candidates who have already completed their tenure as Registrar/Demonstrator/Sr. Resident/Tutor in any discipline need not to apply and their application forms shall not be considered. A separate application form is to be filled up for each post / speciality and fee is to be deposited separately for each post applied for by the candidate.
The candidates who will be shortlisted based on their performance in the Written Test shall submit their academic and technical qualification certificates in the office of the Principal, GMC Jammu in original along with one set of self attested copies of each document.
Candidates are advised not to provide any false information or suppress any material facts. When submitting a hard copy of the application after being shortlisted, they are warned not to alter or tamper with any entry in any document or its attested/certified copy. They should not submit any tampered or fabricated documents. If there is any inaccuracy or discrepancy between two or more such documents or their attested/certified copies, an explanation regarding the discrepancy should be provided.
A candidate who is, or has been, declared by the Selection Committee to be guilty of obtaining wrongful support for their candidature by any means, impersonating or procuring impersonation, submitting fabricated or tampered documents, making incorrect or false statements, suppressing material information, or resorting to any other irregular or improper means in connection with their candidature for election using unfair means during the test, writing irrelevant or obscene content, misbehaving in the examination hall, harassing or causing bodily harm to the staff employed by the Selection Committee for the conduct of the test, or attempting to commit or abetting any of the aforementioned acts, shall be liable to criminal prosecution. Additionally they may be debarred by the Selection Committee from appearing in the examination, either permanently or for a specified period.
In terms of S.O. 364 of 2020 dated 27-11-2020, the appointment on Academic arrangement basis of the appointee shall be terminable on either side by serving a prior notice of one month or on payment of one month’s salary by the appointing authority.
In case of a tie in merit secured by two or more candidates in the written test, the candidate who has scored more marks in MBBS shall be given preference. In case, the marks are also same, candidate older in age shall be preferred.
Along with the Select List, a Waiting List shall be maintained, which shall be valid for a period of 3 months, for each discipline. In case of failure of any candidate to join, the next candidate in merit shall be invited to join. In case a Senior Resident / Tutor leaves the tenured position midway, the Principal, Govt. Medical College Jammu shall appoint a candidate next in merit in the last valid select list. No selected candidate who has joined the institution on a tenured position shall be given Experience Certificate if he /she fails to serve on the tenured position for atleast six months.
