Notice Inviting application for vacant positions of J&K Water Resources Regulatory Authority.

In pursuance to the relevant sections of the Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources (Regulation and Management) Act, 2010 and Rules made thereunder, applications are invited from interested persons for the following positions in Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources Regulatory Authority:
Position : Chairperson : 01
Eligibility : Persons who are holding or have held a post not below the rank of Principal Secretary to the Government and have adequate knowledge of, or experience in, or have shown capacity in dealing with, problems relating to engineering, finance, commerce, economics, law, administration or management.
Position : Member : 01
Eligibility : Persons of ability, integrity and standing who have adequate knowledge of, or experience in, or have shown capacity in dealing with, problems relating to engineering, finance, commerce; economics, law or management; and who are holding or have held post not below the rank of Chief Engineer and having qualification and experience In the field of Hydraulic Engineering.
Terms and Conditions of Service shall be as prescribed in the aforementioned Act (and Rules made thereunder) and be referred to. Some of these terms and conditions are:
i. The term of Office of the Chairperson and Other members shall be three years from the date they enter upon their Office or attaining the age of 65, whichever is earlier.
ii. Consequent upon such appointment, the person shall not hold any other office during the tenure.
iii. The Chairperson shall be entitled to the salary and allowances which is equal to the salary and allowances payable to a Principal Secretary to Government or the pay drawn by him when he was in Government service, whichever be higher.
iv. A Member shall be entitled to the salary and allowances which Is equal to the salary and allowances payable to a Chief Engineer or the pay last drawn by him when he was In Government service, whichever be higher.
v. If the Chairperson or Member at the time of his appointment was In receipt of a pension in respect of any previous service under the Government, his salary as Chairperson or Member, as the case may be, shall be reduced by the amount of that pension.
vi. The Chairperson and Members shall, before entering upon their office, make and subscribe to an oath of office and secrecy as has been prescribed,
vii. The Government may, by order, remove from office the Chairperson or Member in accordance with the provisions.
