Advertisement Notice for Recruitment of Sanginis (Anganwadi Workers) and Sahayikas (Anganwadi Helpers) in Anganwadi Centres of POSHAN Project Gandhi Nagar (Jammu) under 5th Phase.

Applications on the prescribed format are hereby invited from eligible female candidates of the below-mentioned wards of the Panchayats/Municipality for engagement as Sanginis (Anganwadi Workers) and Sahayikas (Anganwadi Helpers) under 5th Phase in the Anganwadi Centres of Poshan Project Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, purely on honorarium basis in pursuance to the Government Order No. 222-JK (SWD) of 2022 dated 30.11.2022 and 103-JK (SWD) of 2023 dated 28.04.2023, approval accorded by Mission Director, Poshan, J&K letter No. SMD/POSHAN/47173-85/2025 dated 24-12-2025.

As per the norms, the unit of selection of Sanginis/Sahayikas shall be the electoral ward of the concerned Panchayat/Municipality.

Poshan Project Gandhi Nagar has vacancies for Anganwadi Workers (13) and Anganwadi Helpers (09), making a total of 22 posts.

Vacancies are available in Anganwadi Centres located in various Municipal Wards of Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, including centres such as Kamala-A, Nehru Nagar-C, Indra Colony, Digiana-B, Roop Nagar-A, M.T. Gangyal, Gangyal-B (Migrant), Udham Singh Nagar, Shastri Nagar (Jagirgan), Green Kalash-A, Last Moh-B, and Last Moh-A.

Vacancies are available in Anganwadi Centres located in Municipal Wards of Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, including centres such as Nanik Nagar-A, Digiana-A (Migrant), Press Moh-A, Last Moh-A, Last Moh-B, Patel Nagar, Channi-A, Kaccha Talab, and Channi Himmat-A.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :

For Selection of Sanginis (Anganwadi Workers)

Women candidates must be in the age group of 18โ€“37 years as on 01-01-2026.

The candidate should be a domicile of the UT of J&K.

The candidate must be a resident of the electoral ward where the Anganwadi Centre is situated. Name in the voter list of the ward shall be considered as proof of residence. In case of married candidates residing with parents, an unmarried certificate issued by the concerned Tehsildar is required. In case of any dispute, residence proof certified by the concerned SDM/ACR shall be considered.

Minimum qualification for Sangini (Anganwadi Worker) shall be 10+2 and maximum Graduation.

Weightage shall be given on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2 and selection shall be purely on merit basis.

In case any eligible candidate is available within the family of the retiring AWW/AWH, the said candidate shall qualify for additional two percent points while making selection.

In case of tie in merit, the candidate with higher age shall be preferred.

Candidates with qualification higher than Graduation shall not be considered.

For Selection of Sahayikas (Anganwadi Helpers)

Women candidates must be in the age group of 18โ€“37 years as on 01-01-2026.

Married candidates residing with parents must provide an unmarried certificate issued by the concerned Tehsildar. In case of dispute, residence proof from the concerned SDM/ACR shall be considered.

The selection of Sahayikas shall be restricted to the electoral ward where the Anganwadi Centre is located.

Minimum qualification for Sahayika (Anganwadi Helper) shall be Matriculation.

In case no matriculate candidate is available in the ward, candidates with qualification not less than 8th standard shall be considered.

Weightage shall be given on the basis of marks obtained in Matriculation (10th) and selection shall be purely on merit basis.

First preference shall be given to married women of the ward as helper from among those who fulfil the qualification criteria. In case no married candidate is available, unmarried candidates may be considered

HOW TO APPLY :

The application forms complete in all respects as per the prescribed proforma along with all requisite documents should be submitted in the office of the Child Development Project Officer, Gandhi Nagar, House No. 10-C, 2nd Extension, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, near SRL Diagnostic Laboratory, Babu Plaza, either by personal delivery or through registered post during working hours against proper receipt. Incomplete forms shall be rejected without any clarification/notice and the candidates shall have no right to claim candidature.

Date of commencement for submission of application forms: 06-01-2026

Last date for submission of application forms : 20-01-2026

No application forms shall be accepted after the last date i.e. 20-01-2026.

DOCUMENT VERIFICATION

Shortlisted meritorious candidates shall be required to appear before the Document Verification Committee along with all original documents whose copies have been attached with the application form within one week after the last date of receipt of application forms.
