Recruitment of Research Assistants in the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh

Whereas, vide Advertisement Notice No. 02 of 2023 /RG/GS dated 11.04.2023, process was initiated for filling up of 03 vacant positions of Research Assistants and for preparation of a panel, to be utilized for filling up of future anticipated positions, which shall be valid for a period of one year.

Whereas, upon completion of the selection process, the candidates from the approved panel (which is valid for a period of one year), in order of merit, are being engaged as Research Assistants, as per availability of vacant positions. And in this regard, vide High Court order No. 482 of 2024/RG/GS dated 24.04.2024, ten candidates were engaged as Research Assistants with the explicit condition that the candidates so engaged, shall furnish an undertaking before the Registrar General, High Court of J&K and Ladakh, in terms of Guideline No. 8 of the Notification No. 578 dated 30.08.2016, as amended from time to time, failing which he/she shall not be allowed to take up the assignment;

Whereas, one Konchok Dolma (Transaction ID JKLHC23020000809) R/o 31, Martselang, Kharu, UT of Ladakh who was engaged as Research Assistant vide order No. 1397 of 2023 /RG/GS dated 04.12.2023, did not join within the stipulated period as such her engagement as Research Assistant is to be cancelled. Besides one position of Research Assistant has recently fallen vacant due to resignation tendered by one Research Assistant namely Ms. Malika Rashid Wani, D/o Abdul Rashid Wani, R/o A-59, Khan Colony, Chanapora, Srinagar.

And whereas, the next two candidates in the approved panel / waiting list (in order of merit), are Ms. Durdana Hamid Qureshi (Transaction ID JKLHC23020000744), D/o Abdul Hamid Qureshi R/o H.No 7, Shah-e-Hamadan, Lane No. 1, 90 feet Road Ahmed Nagar, Srinagar and Mr. Sushank Sharma (Transaction ID JKLHC23020000490), S/o Inder Kumar Sharma, Ward No. 6, Chamunda Mohalla, Basohli.

Now, therefore, keeping in view the facts mentioned above, it is hereby ordered that:-

1.) Engagement of Ms. Konchok Dolma (Transaction ID JKLHC23020000809) R/o 31, Martselang, Kharu, UT of Ladakh as Research Assistant, is hereby cancelled as she did not join within the prescribed time; and

2.) Ms. Durdana Hamid Qureshi (Transaction ID JKLHC23020000744), D/o of Abdul Hamid Qureshi R/o H.No. 7, Shah-e-Hamadan, Lane No. 1, 90 feet Road Ahmed Nagar, Srinagar and Mr. Sushank Sharma (Transaction ID JKLHC23020000490), S/a Inder Kumar Sharma, Ward No. 6, Chamunda Mohalla, Basohil, who figure next in the approved panel/waiting list (in order of merit), are hereby engaged as Research Assistants in the High Court of J&K and Ladakh, on consolidated honorarium of Rs. 40,000/- per month subject to the following conditions:-

• The engagement will be purely on contractual basis initially for a period of one year and shall be governed as per the guidelines issued by the High Court Vide Notification No. 578 dated 30.08.2016 as amended from time to time, which has been duly notified in the Government Gazette and uploaded on the official website of the Hon’ble High Court.

• The selected/engaged candidates shall furnish an undertaking before the undersigned in terms of Guideline No. 8 of the Notification No. 578 dated 30.08.2016 as per Schedule-I of the Guidelines under reference, within seven days from the date of order, failing which he/she shall not be allowed to take up the assignment.
