Applications on prescribed format indicating name, permanent/correspondence address, telephone number (if any), date of birth, qualification and experience as per Annexure-I are invited from eligible candidates of Indian Nationality for the temporary position of YP I in the ICAR funded research project entitled, “Pan-genome analysis of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) genotypes from the Northern Himalayan Region for enhanced disease resistance and agronomic performance” in the Institute of Biotechnology, as detailed below :

Young Professional-I (YP I)

No. of posts : 01

Emoluments : Rs. 30000 (fixed)

Essential qualification & Upper Age limit :

Graduate in Biotechnology/ Agriculture

Upper Age : 45 years as on Feb 01, 2026

Relevant experience, as evident from publications and other proof, on collection and statistical analysis of morphological data on field crops will be considered only.

Roles and responsibilities of the Young Professional I are given below :

To undertake routine visits to Bhaderwah, as the main centre of experimentation and field trials will be located there, and actively participate in field and data collection activities at the site.

Preparation of germplasm for sowing in experimental field and recording of morphological data on more than 700 germplasm lines. Assist in harvesting, storage and maintenance of importance germplasm.

Managing field labour, laboratory screening of germplasm, digitalization of field data for bioinformatic and statistical data analysis and compiling project reports for further submission to funding/concerned agency

Terms and Conditions for the research position are as under :-

I. The engagement shall be purely on contract basis.

II. The position is co-terminus with the research project.

III. No legal right to claim regularization/appointment by absorption or otherwise against any regular post in the University. Prior notice of one month is essential in case of relinquishing the post.

IV. Initially the appointment is for two months only. The extension (annually) may be granted subject to satisfactory performance of the appointee and availability of funds from the funding agency.

V. Eligible candidates will be informed about the date, time and venue of interview separately.

VI. No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the interview.
