ADVERTISEMENT FOR TERRITORIAL ARMY RECRUITMENT OF 156 INFANTRY BATTALION (TERRITORIAL ARMY) (HOME & HEARTH) PUNJAB
156 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) (Home & Hearth) PUNJAB will be organising a recruitment rally at Advance Landing Ground, Surankote from 07 December 2025 to 20 December 2025. Eligible candidates volunteering to join the Territorial Army may report for screening at 0700 Hr as per the given schedule. Entry from the main gate will open at 0700 Hr and close at 0900 Hr strictly. Document checking, screening and medical test of candidates screened in the rally will be held at the venue.
AREA WISE SCHEDULE OF RECRUITMENT
Recruitment will be conducted at different locations and dates for various tehsils and districts of Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab from 7 December 2025 to 20 December 2025. Recruitment for clerks and tradesmen will be carried out from UT of J&K only.

Eligibility Criteria
Age: 18 to 42 years as on the date of recruitment.
Educational Qualification
Soldier (General Duty): Class 10th / Matric pass with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject. For boards following grading system, a minimum of ‘D’ grade (33–40 marks) in individual subjects or overall aggregate of C2 grade or equivalent is required.
Soldier (Clerk): 10+2 / Intermediate pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce or Science) with 60% marks in aggregate and 50% in each subject. Securing 50% in English and Maths/Accounts/Book Keeping in Class 12th is mandatory.
Soldier Tradesmen (10th Pass): Class 10th simple pass.
Soldier Tradesmen (8th Pass): Class 8th simple pass. No percentage stipulation but should have scored minimum 33% in each subject.
Tattoos
Persons with tattoos, visible in the physical training dress, are not eligible.
Domicile Certificate
As applicable.
Physical Standards
Height: 160 cm (162 cm for Soldier Clerk of 174 Engineer Regiment).
Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per Army Medical Standard (52 kg for Soldier Clerk of 174 Engineer Regiment).
Chest: 82 cm (77 cm unexpanded) and 84 cm (79 cm unexpanded) for Soldier Clerk of 174 Engineer Regiment.
Relaxation in Physical Standards:
Sons of Servicemen, Ex-Servicemen, Widows of Ex-Servicemen: 2 cm height, 2 kg weight, 1 cm chest.
Outstanding Sportsmen (National/State Level): 3 cm height, 3 kg weight, 3 cm chest.
Physical Fitness Test
Candidates will undergo physical tests of 1 Mile Run, Pull Ups, Zigzag Balance and 9 Feet Ditch.
Medical Inspection
Candidates must be medically fit. Shortlisted candidates will undergo medical inspection.
Trade Test
Trade tests will be conducted for all tradesmen and clerks.
Written Examination
Candidates who qualify in physical and medical examinations will appear for a written examination. The question paper will be bilingual (English and Hindi).
Marking Scheme
Each correct answer: +2 marks
Each incorrect answer: -1 mark
Unattempted question: 0 marks
Screening/Aptitude Test
This will be conducted separately for Soldier General Duty.

Territorial Army is a purely voluntary organisation with part-time commitment. It does not provide permanent employment.
The initial period of enrolment is 7 years. Extension depends on organisational requirements and other criteria.
Authorities conducting the rally are not responsible for any accident/injury during recruitment.
Drug tests will be conducted for candidates qualifying for the written exam and screening/aptitude test.
