Fifteen school going children were injured after the matador in which they were traveling from Mahanpur to Karanvara in Basohli tehsil of Kathua district turned turtle after hitting a hill lock this afternoon.
The matador bearing registration number PB 017557 was attached to a private school and it was carrying the children from school to their respective homes.
The driver of the matador fled after the accident and these were the local people who rescued the children from the vehicle and took them to Mahanpur Hospital for treatment where from they were later shifted to SDH Basohli. The children were kept in the hospital under observation up to 6-30 pm and later discharged.
The Mahanpur Police Post has registered a case against the driver who is absconding and started manhunt to arrest him.
