25 shops, 14 houses Gutted in Bhalessa blaze, Jammu & Kashmir

During past four months , at least one hundred structures were damaged in mysterious fire incidents in Bhalessa area of Bhaderwah constituency in Doda district.

In a major blaze incident, 25 shops ,14 residential houses and two dispensaries were gutted in Batyas area of Gundoh in Bhaderwah constituency late last night

Locals said the fire broke out at around 12.05 am from a shop and engulfed adjoining shops. They said the intensity of the fire was such that within no time it consumed 25 shops in the Market.

Although Police , Army and local people rushed to the spot on time and started fire-fighting operation but before they could douse the flames, property worth crores was damaged in the blaze.
Police said they have started an investigation into the matter.

Most of the shops were gutted in Batyas , it said, adding that cause of the fire is being ascertained.

There was no loss of life or injury caused to anyone in the incident, police said.

It is notable to mention here that some days back at least 26 shop, six residential structures and several vendor huts were gutted in a major fire in Gundoh market of same area and it is second incident of fire in Batyas area within four months .
