5G Rollout to be Very Soon, aiming to achieve Pan-India coverage in two years: IT Minister says
5G is the 5th generation mobile network that can transmit an enormous amount of data with a high speed
5G services for telecom in India are expected to be available very shortly and the goal of the government is to cover the entire country in two years, as stated by Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at an event on Sunday.
In mid-August, the government issued spectrum allocation notices to the telecom service providers, soliciting them to plan for the introduction of 5G services.
With this spectrum allocation, India is now in the final stage of rolling out the high-speed 5G communications services.
Reliance Jio has already announced that it will be launching high-speed 5G services by Diwali this year in several major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.
In the future, it plans to extend its 5G network to every town, village, and Talukas across the nation in 2023. This will be done by the end of December thatβs about 18 months from now.
