7th Pay Commission Full News with Complete Chart of Salaries

7th Pay Commission gets thumbs up With state cabinet set to clear implementation of 7th pay commission recommendations in Tuesday’s meeting to give hike in salary and allowance of government employees and pensioners, the move will have Rs 4500 crore annual financial implication, a source told Greater Kashmir. “Besides the government will have to clear Rs 7500 crore as arrears of employees and pensioners to give retrospective effect to the pay commission recommendations,” said the source.

J&K has a total employee population of around 4.5 lakh persons, working in different departments. The government had made the commitment for implementing the pay commission recommendations from April 1, during the budget session earlier this year with retrospective effect from January 2016.

The cabinet would clear rollout of the pay commission recommendations in the meeting, said the source, adding the recommendation was a non-agenda item.

The source said an SRO regarding implementation of the recommendations would be issued after the cabinet meeting that would be chaired by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. The meeting will start at 11 am in Jammu secretariat.

After taking over as the Finance Minister last month, AltafBukhari held several meetings with officials from finance and other departments to discuss modalities and arrangements for rolling out the implementation of the recommendations.

The proposal for setting up the state knowledge commission and state Urdu Council would also come up for discussion during the cabinet meeting. Both the bodies will have autonomous status.

In a separate proposal the cabinet is also likely to clear a proposal for providing security (watch and ward) for schools across J&K. This was one of the issues being discussed for long time
