At least 20 people killed, 40 injured in mosque blast in Kabul
Kabul (Afghanistan): An explosion in a mosque in the north of Kabul, the Afghan capital city has killed twenty people and wounded 40 others, reports from the media said.
The explosion was believed to have occurred at a mosque situated in Kabul’s Khair Khana area during evening prayers.
“As a result of an explosion in a mosque north of Kabul, 20 people were killed and another 40 were injured,” an Afghan security official informed Qatari television station Al Jazeera on Wednesday.
The Taliban claim they are in complete control over Afghanistan however their rival group, the Islamic State continues carrying out attacks on police and civilians throughout the country.
The Taliban hasn’t issued a statement regarding the victims, according to the Afghan news agency. There is no terrorist group that has claimed responsibility for the incident to date.
In the list of deceased is an important Islamic religious leader named Amir Mohammad Kabuli.
Just two weeks back, two fatal explosions in Kabul killed 10 people and injured 40 others, the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attacks.
