BJP celebrates 5 years of article 370 revocation: Modi hailed as architect of J&K integration

BJP’s Tarun Chugh accuses Abdullahs, Muftis, and Gandhis of obstructing constitutional progress, praises Modi’s vision and achievements

As the fifth anniversary of the Article 370 rollback approaches, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh has made a bold statement, accusing three prominent political families in Jammu and Kashmir of obstructing the implementation of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s constitution in the region.

The Abdullahs, Muftis, and Gandhis were singled out for their role in what Chugh described as a longstanding barrier to true constitutional integration.

In a press conference held today, Chugh  expressed his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the historic revocation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019. “We have taken a pledge to promote democracy in J&K,” Chugh stated. “We also thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for scrapping Article 370, which has paved the way for the implementation of Dr. Ambedkar’s constitution in J&K,” he added.

Chugh criticized the three political families for their alleged role in preventing the full integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the Union of India. “Before August 5, 2019, these families—the Abdullahs, Muftis, and Gandhis—were instrumental in thwarting the implementation of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s constitution,” he said.

The BJP leader also highlighted a resolution passed by the Scheduled Caste Front, condemning these families for their perceived mismanagement and applauding the Prime Minister’s actions. “The SC Front has condemned these three families for ruining J&K and hailed PM Modi for the courageous steps taken on August 5, 2019,” Chugh said.

He emphasized that the Prime Minister’s initiatives under the slogan “Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas” (Together with all, Development for all) have been transformative for the region. One of the notable achievements cited was the provision of Rs 5 lakh worth of free medical treatment to residents, a policy Chugh claims is changing lives in Jammu and Kashmir. “Such steps were only possible under the Modi government,” he asserted.

Lastly, the coming days will likely see heightened political activity and discourse as various stakeholders reflect on the changes brought about by the Article 370 revocation and what lies ahead for Jammu and Kashmir. — (KB)
