In a first, J&K police uses tracking device on terror accused

The J&K police has become first in the country to use GPS-enabled tracking device on terror accused on bail to track their movements and keep strict vigil on them. The SIA introduces this tech against the terror accused persons.

As per sources, a terror associate of terrorist organisation Hizbul Mujahideen namely Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, who is found  involved in terror funding has become the first terror accused to be tagged with tracker anklet by the SIA after being released on bail by the court. He was imprisoned at Udhampur Police Station.

The GPS trackers has been put on the terror associate to restrict his movements and keep him away from involving in terror activities in J&K. The GPS tracker limits the persons movements and inform the authorities if the accused tries to go away from the authorized area or place which the authorties decides for the criminal.

The GPS tracking system devices earlier was being used in foreign lands such as United States, United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand but now the Jammu and Kashmir Police will now utilize it to keep strict vigil on the movement of bailout terror accused persons
