Jasprit Bumrah ruled out for ICC T20 World Cup 2022
A major blow to India as their star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 which will begin on Oct. 16 due to a an injury to the back.
The BCCI Medical team has ruled out Team India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah from the ICC Menβs T20 World Cup team. The decision was made following an extensive examination and consultation with specialists. Bumrah was initially excluded from the current 3-match T20 series with South Africa due to a back injury.
In the ICC competition, India is in Group 2 along with Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Africa and two qualified players.
India T20 World Cup squad: Rohit Sharma (capt), KL Rahul (vice-capt), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Dinesh Karthik (wicket-keeper), Hardik Pandya, R. Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh.
Reserve players: Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi, Deepak Chahar.
