J&K Govt on Domicile Certificates

Rohit Kansal, Principal Sec. Information & Govt. spokesperson, said that Issuance of Domicile Certificates has been accelerated & regularly monitored; 12.5 lakh Certificates issued so far with over 99% being erstwhile PRC holders.

Mr. Kansal said that so far 11398 West Pakistan Refugees, 415 Valmiki community members, 10 Gorkha community members & 12340 Registered Migrants have been issued Domicile Certificates

The spokesperson said that Domicile Certificate procedure has been simplified & made time bound, Govt. has notified; erstwhile PRC holders to get certificates on basis of PRCs alone; authorities bound to issue in 5 days.

Mr. Kansal said that Kashmiri migrants to get Domicile Certificates just on the submission of PRC or certificate of registration of migrants; there is a special limited provision for not registered Bonafide migrants & displaced persons.

A group of women form POK residing in J&K met Lt Governor Manoj Sinha today to apprise him about the issues faced by them. The Lt Governor heard them patiently and assured them of appropriate redressal of their issues.
