Rain and thunderstorms are forecast on May 16 and 17, providing some reprieve from the regionโs blazing heat for a few days.
A spokeswoman for the MeT Department stated that a spell of light to moderate rain/ thunderstorm is most likely to occur in J&K, particularly in the plains of the Jammu region, from May 16 evening to May 18.
On the 16th and 17th of May, he said, thunderstorms with high gusty winds and hailstorm may develop in various parts of the Jammu region. This will provide a welcome break from the regionโs oppressively hot temperatures.
