Tomato Flu outbreak in India; Find out the symptoms, and treatment here

As the world is fighting against Covid-19 and monkeypox, there is a different virus that is trying to show its strength. It’s called ‘Tomato flu’.

Based on reports, 26 kids aged upto 10 may be infected with ‘Tomato Flu’ so far 82 children who are less than five years old of age have contracted the virus to date.

People who are infected by ‘Tomato flu suffer from symptoms such as red skin blisters as well as joint pain and fever.

The Lancet has published a report that a brand new fever, ‘Tomato flu is spreading to India as it battles the possibility of a 4th Covid wave.

They stated that the infection is extremely rare and currently in an endemic condition. It is currently not threatening life, but a vigilant approach is necessary to ensure that it is kept at bay.

The virus is likely to be transmitted by close contact, young children are most at risk of being exposed.

According to doctors this infection is not controlled by any medication currently available. It’s also extremely contagious. The flu is strikingly similar to foot, hand and mouth diseases. Like the hand, mouth and foot diseases when the flu outbreak is not controlled and prevented it could have serious consequences for adults.

There are reports of other symptoms, including symptoms of dehydration, body ache vomiting and diarrhea. Color changes in the limbs have also been noted in certain instances.

The disease is infectious but is not fatal and the mechanism of spread is under investigation.
