Order regarding amendment to the syllabus/ selection criteria for the Post of Translator
In exercise of the powers conferred by Rule 6 of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Staff (Conditions of Service) Rules, 1968, Hon’ble the Chief Justice has been pleased to make amendment to the syllabus/selection criteria for the post of Translator, Levei-6E (35900-113500) as notified vide Order No. 1435 of 2023/RG/NG-156-(I) dated 08.12.2023, and the same shall form part of the High Court Order No. 579 dated 24.10.2008;
(i) Written test of 80 marks of 80 minutes duration. The candidates shall have to appear in the written test comprising of partly objective type questions and partly subjective type questions on the following subjects:
(a) Law related objective type 10 questions (each of one mark);
(b) Translation of paragraph of 200 words from English to Urdu (20 marks);
(c) Translation of paragraph of 200 words from Urdu to English (20 marks);
(d) Basic Knowledge related to Computer (20 marks);
(e) General Knowledge and Current Affairs(10 questions and each containing one mark). Interview viva-voce = 20 Marks.
Note :
(1) Only those candidates who score 80°/o marks each in clause (b) and (c) above shall be called for the interview.
(2) On the basis of the performance in the written test, the candidates shall be called for Interview /Viva-Voce in order
of merit in the ratio of 1:5.
(3) Candidates qualifying the written examination and called for Interview /Viva-Voce shall also have to appear in computer typing test with speed of not less than 30 words per minute.
