7 booked for violating tenant verification norms in Jammu
With intensified security in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Republic Day, the Jammu police have booked seven landlords for allegedly keeping tenants in their premises without police verification.
While two cases were registered in Channi Himmat area, five cases were booked under the jurisdiction of Bahu Fort police station.
โIn view of the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations and the heightened security arrangements, Channi Himmat police station has registered two cases under Section 223 of BNS against house owners for violating the orders of the District Magistrate, Jammu, by keeping tenants in their residential premises without mandatory police verification,โ the police said.
The home owners who were booked belong to Gujjar Colony in Channi Himmat.
These cases have been registered as part of a verification and enforcement drive to ensure strict compliance with tenant verification norms.

Meanwhile, the Bahu Fort police station has registered five cases against house owners for violating the orders of the District Magistrate, Jammu. All five cases were registered against home owners in Bathindi area.
Jammu police has appealed to all house owners to strictly adhere to the tenant verification guidelines and cooperate with the police. โCitizens are urged to remain vigilant and extend full cooperation to maintain peace, law and order, and to ensure a safe and secure environment during the upcoming Republic Day celebrations,โ the police added.
