The Centre has told the Lok Sabha that AIIMS Jammu is currently facing a shortage of faculty, with 64 posts lying vacant.
In a written reply to an unstarred question, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said the institute has a sanctioned strength of 183 faculty positions, of which 119 have been filled so far.
The Ministry noted that faculty recruitment is an ongoing process and said several steps are being taken to accelerate appointments at AIIMS Jammu as well as other AIIMS institutions.
These include the formation of standing selection committees, engagement of retired faculty on a contractual basis, and the introduction of a visiting faculty scheme.
It further stated that common recruitment examinations and national-level entrance tests are being conducted regularly to fill both faculty and non-faculty posts across AIIMS institutions nationwide.
If you want it tighter or more formal, just say the word.
