Army and J&K Police Rescue 214 Stranded Tourists, Locals at Snowbound Sinthan Pass
More than 200 stranded passengers, including tourists and local civilians, were rescued from Sinthan Pass in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district after a joint operation by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police amid heavy snowfall, officials said on Monday.
According to officials, troops of 19 Rashtriya Rifles along with the J&K Police (Anantnag) launched a rescue operation at Sinthan Pass after several vehicles and passengers were stranded due to incessant snowfall, slippery roads and extremely low visibility.
