Breaking : Fire incident at Petrol pump Rajpura
Two tankers damaged as fire breaks out in petrol pump at Rajpura
A fire broke out in an Indian Oil petrol
pump at Rajpura Tehsil of
Samba District, this evening,
during the emptying of fuel from
two tankers.
Eyewitnesses said the flames quickly engulfed the petrol
pump office and both tankers
before personnel could control
it, rising several feet high.
They said the petrol pump
attendants struggled to use fire
extinguishers, as the fire spread
rapidly.
While no injuries have been
reported in the incident efforts
are underway to control the fire
with the assistance of four fire
tenders. The underground fuel
tanks at the petrol pump remain
unharmed, averting potential
greater losses if they had caught
fire.
Upon receiving information,
the police arrived at the scene,
initiating necessary actions.
Nearby villagers also gathered
as flames illuminated
the sky. Despite initial
attempts by two
fire tenders from
Samba and
Hiranagar, additional
support was called in.
Finally, the fire
fighters employed
chemicals in their
efforts to control the
blaze.
Tarun Gupta, the
petrol pump owner from
Jammu, mentioned being on-site
when the fire erupted during the
fuel-emptying process from a
tanker.
The cause of the fire is currently
unknown, and public representatives,
including DSP
Bhisham Dubey and Rajpura
Police Chowki Officer, were
present at the scene when the
last report poured in.
