Day Temps 7–10°C Above Normal Across J&K: IMD
Day temperatures across Jammu and Kashmir remained several degrees above normal on Wednesday, while most parts of the Union Territory recorded no rainfall, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
According to the IMD’s evening bulletin, Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 20.5 degrees Celsius, which was 7.5 degrees above normal, while the minimum settled at 4.2 degrees Celsius, 1.7 degrees above normal.

Qazigund recorded a maximum temperature of 22.0 degrees Celsius, 9.4 degrees above normal, with the minimum at 2.2 degrees Celsius. Pahalgam registered a high of 18.9 degrees Celsius, which was 8.9 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature dipped to minus 0.1 degrees Celsius.
Kupwara recorded a maximum of 19.8 degrees Celsius, 7.3 degrees above normal, while Kokernag registered a high of 20.6 degrees Celsius, 9.4 degrees above normal.
The ski resort of Gulmarg recorded a maximum temperature of 12.6 degrees Celsius, 9.1 degrees above normal, while the minimum settled at 2.0 degrees Celsius.
In the Jammu division, the winter capital Jammu recorded a maximum temperature of 30.3 degrees Celsius, 6.0 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 14.3 degrees Celsius.
Banihal recorded a high of 24.6 degrees Celsius, 9.8 degrees above normal, while Batote registered a maximum temperature of 25.3 degrees Celsius, 10.7 degrees above normal.

Katra recorded a maximum temperature of 29.6 degrees Celsius, which was 7.7 degrees above normal, while Bhaderwah recorded a high of 25.4 degrees Celsius, 9.1 degrees above normal.
The IMD said that no rainfall was recorded in most stations across the Union Territory during the past 24 hours. Relative humidity at 5:30 pm stood at 43 percent in Srinagar and 43 percent in Jammu, the department added.
