DSEJ Directs Schools To Ensure Safety Before Reopening Post-Floods

The Directorate of School Education Jammu has directed all Chief Education Officers (CEOs) to ensure that no school building damaged by recent floods is reopened without a proper structural safety assessment.

The order stressed that student and staff safety is the top priority, and unsafe or submerged buildings must remain closed until declared safe.

Schools have been asked to coordinate with local administration and community bodies for temporary arrangements, and to use spaces like community halls, panchayat ghars, or religious places if needed.

Principals and heads of institutions have also been told to inspect buildings and allow classes only after ensuring safety and readiness.
