Farooq Abdullah declares pre-poll tie-up with Congress on all 90 seats in assembly
Ahead of the assembly elections, Jammu and Kashmir’s National Conference leader Dr Farooq Abdullah announced that his party would be fighting the election in alliance with the Indian National Congress for all the 90 Legislative Assembly seats and this has changed the political scenario completely.
While addressing a press conference, Abdulah explained how he had arrived at such an alliance stressing that it was important to have a united opposition capable of facing up to the might of ruling power.
He said this union is aimed at ganging up on anti-incumbency votes and showing well in meetings. It seeks for optimising combined poll strength to address burning issues pertaining governance, growth and regional sovereignty.
This will increase chances of getting majority and bringing about significant political changes in the area according to Abdullah. Remarkably; this marks as turning point that leads electoral dynamics ahead; as per political analysts.
To bring out best results from every different pitfall possible they need to work together cohesively.— (KB)
