FFRC Issues Strict Warning to Schools Over Early Fee Charging for 2026–27 Session
The Fee Fixation & Regulation Committee (FFRC) has released a fresh clarification, cautioning schools across J&K against demanding fees for the 2026–27 academic session before the official date.
The Committee stated that no school is allowed to charge any fee for the 2026–27 session before 1st April 2026, adding that some institutions—especially in the Winter Zone—were attempting to collect fees immediately after the academic session began in November.
FFRC stressed that academic year ≠ financial year, and all fee structures are fixed strictly as per the financial year, which starts on 1 April.
⛔ Schools demanding fees early are violating guidelines and will face strict action.
✔ Schools must only collect the 2026–27 fee in March 2026, as per the financial-year-based structure.
The Committee has urged full compliance and warned that any breach “will be taken seriously.”
