Jammu News: Gunfight Breaks Out in Udhampur
Jammu News: A gunfight has broken out between security forces and militants in Ramnagar area of Udhampur.
Officials told news agency that upon receipt of specific inputs about presence of militants, a security forces team launched a cordon-and-search-operation at Jopher village in Ramnagar. “As the security forces approached the site, the hiding militants opened fire, which was retaliated, thereby triggering of an encounter,” they said.
“Some two to three militants are believed to be trapped at the site,” the official said, adding, “Intermittent exchange of gunfire is on at the site.”
