IMD Weather Forecast: Cold Wave To Hit J&K
India is currently experiencing sharply contrasting weather conditions, with a prolonged spell of rain and thunderstorms in the south and an intense cold wave gripping the north. While temperatures continue to plunge across several northern cities, multiple southern states, such as Tamil Nadu, are dealing with relentless rain.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a series of warnings for southern, central and northeastern regions as a weather system continues to influence the country’s weather. According to the latest forecast, highly varied and extreme weather patterns are expected to continue throughout the week.
The weather department has forecast that most parts of the national capital are likely to experience cold-wave conditions on Tuesday, November 18. Residents are expected to witness a sharp dip in temperature, with the maximum around 26 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 10 degrees Celsius.
Snowfall In THESE Areas
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), snowfall is likely to persist across the Himalayan region, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Temperatures in these regions are expected to fall by 4-5 degrees Celsius on November 20.
Heavy Rainfall In Southern States
The IMD has forecast continued rainfall across southern India, particularly in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Light to moderate rainfall is likely in many areas over the next few days, while isolated pockets may receive heavy to very heavy rainfall at intervals.
