Kashmir Sees Weather Relief, But Jammu Still Sizzling at 41°C
Heatwave conditions showed varying patterns across Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, as the Kashmir Valley experienced a marginal drop in temperatures while the Jammu region continued to reel under intense heatwave.
As per Kashmir Weather Watch, maximum temperature of srinagar settled at 30.3°C, providing mild relief to public. Other parts of the Valley also reported a dip — Qazigund recorded 29.3°C, Kokernag 28.8°C, Kupwara recorded 28.3°C. The well-known tourist destination’s of Pahalgam and Gulmarg maintained cooler conditions at 20.5°C and 25.8°C, respectively, drawing more visitors amid the summer heat.
Jammu suffered the brunt of the heatwave. Jammu city remained the hottest place, touching 41.0°C. Katra Scorching at 38.4°C, while day temperature recorded in Batote 30.6°C, Banihal 32.0°C, and Bhaderwah 31.6°C.
Moreover, High-altitude Ladakh remained Moderately pleasant, with Leh recording a maximum temperature of 26.0°C.
