MeT Predicts Fresh Spell of Snow & Rain in Kashmir
The Meteorological Department today Predicted snow and rain in various parts of the region over the next few days.
A generally cloudy sky will dominate the region today, with light rain and snow likely in the late afternoon and evening. The weather is set to intensify on New Year’s Eve, with light to moderate rain and snow expected across most areas, potentially turning heavy in some parts of North and Central Kashmir.
Travellers are being advised to exercise caution, with traffic and admin advisories in place for the night of December 30 to January 1. Fog is also expected to blanket parts of Jammu Division over the next 24 hours, reducing visibility in some areas.
The weather is expected to clear up by January 2, with partly cloudy skies forecast for the following days, punctuated by brief spells of light rain and snow in isolated areas. Higher reaches of North and Central Kashmir may see some snowfall on January 6.
