Over 5200 Govt Posts Vacant in J&K: Govt

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday revealed that more than 5,200 posts of doctors and paramedics are lying vacant across health institutions in the Union Territory.

In response to a question raised by MLA Mir Mohammad Fayaz, the data reveals 1,635 gazetted and 3,616 non-gazetted posts are vacant in the Health and Medical Education Department across the Jammu and Kashmir.

The Minister Incharge said that 197 gazetted and 772 non-gazetted posts have been referred to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and the Services Selection Board (JKSSB) during the last two years.
The department is using academic arrangements as an interim measure until all posts are filled on a regular basis, the Minister added.
