PM Modi to visit flood-hit Punjab on 09 Sep.. So far 46 deaths, 2000 villages submerged

These days, the entire state of Punjab is in the grip of devastating floods, with water visible everywhere. The death toll in this natural disaster has risen to 46, while standing crops spread across 1.75 lakh hectares have been destroyed, and 1,996 villages across 23 districts have been completely submerged. Meanwhile, information is coming in that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the flood-affected areas of Punjab.

According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the flood-hit district of Gurdaspur in Punjab on September 9 to review the situation. He will also directly interact with flood-affected people and farmers.

Giving details about the flood situation, an official said that the death toll has risen to 46, while crops on 1.75 lakh hectares of agricultural land have been submerged. Due to heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, rivers flowing through Punjabโ€”Ravi, Sutlej, and Beasโ€”are in spate. In addition, the recent heavy rains in Punjab have made the situation even more challenging.
