Relaxation of qualification bar under Marriage Assistance Scheme for Poor Girls
J&K Govt removes the Minimum educational qualification bar for availing the benefit under Marriage Assistance Scheme for poor girls. Now, all eligible beneficiaries, irrespective of educational qualification, can avail the financial assistance under the Scheme.
The decision aims to ensure maximum coverage and extend social support to underprivileged families across Jammu and Kashmir.

Government Order No. 245-JK(SWD) of 2025 Dated:- 27-10-2025
In partial modification to Government Order No.49-JK(SWD) of 2022 dated 22.03.2022, sanction is hereby accorded to the relaxation of minimum qualification bar of 8th Class Pass or equivalent upto 31.03.2028 under Marriage Assistance Scheme. Accordingly, amendment to Government Order No.49-JK(SWD) of 2022 dated 22.03.2022 annexed as ‘A’ is also incorporated. This order shall be effective from 01.04.2025 onwards. The procedure for processing the applications rejected due to qualification bar and those who could not apply due to qualification bar is detailed at Annexure “B”.
