A sudden bout of intense winds late Thursday evening caused significant damage to residential properties in several parts of Central and North Kashmir, according to officials and local residents.
Areas such as Gulab Daji, Bernar, Malwah, Obera, and Kharpora were among the worst affected, where powerful gusts tore off rooftops from multiple houses. In some places, boundary walls and sections of homes collapsed under the force of the winds.
