JK News Today: Short Circuit Sparks Fire in JK Assembly Lobby

JK News Today: A minor fire broke out in the lobby of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly complex in Jammu on Wednesday morning, causing damage to historic photographs, furniture, and infrastructure, officials said.

A senior official said the fire started around 9 AM and quickly spread through the lobby area. Preliminary investigations suggest a short circuit as the likely cause.

The flames damaged several historic portraits of former Governors and Lieutenant Governors of Jammu and Kashmir, along with furniture including sofas, chairs, and carpets, the official said.

Fire and Emergency Services personnel reached the spot and managed to contain the fire before it spread to other sections of the complex. No casualties or injuries were reported, the official added.
