TRAFFIC POLICE ADVISORY ON THE EVE OF REPUBLIC DAY-2024
The Republic Day celebrations will be held at M.A Stadium Jammu on 26th January-2024. The Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Union Territory Jammu & Kashmir will take the salute at M.A Stadium and large number of VIPs/ Senior Officers/ guests/ spectators/ School Children were expected to witness the national festival. In order to ensure smooth movement of general public the general public especially the motorists are requested to follow the traffic police advisory as mentioned below:-
PARKING SLOTS FOR PASS HOLDERS
1) All the pass holders shall enter to their respective parking slots issued to them by Civil Administration and get their vehicle parked accordingly in the allotted parking Slot.
2) Car passes shall be pasted on the left side of front windscreen of the vehicles to get entry as per the allotted parking pass on first come first serve basis.
3) No other parking slot /short cut approach towards the allotted parking slot shall be allowed to avoid last moment confusion.
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS /DIVERSION
1. During the celebration of the National festival till 1300 Hours strict diversions shall be applied on ground all general vehicular movement and vehicles shall terminate accordingly from nearest routes and get their vehicles parked in appropriate parking slot to avoid any inconvenience.
2. No public/private vehicles except valid parking pass holders shall be allowed to proceed ahead from cut off points i.e Canal Head, ,Vivekananda Chowk /Fortune Rivera Cut, Indira Chowk, Shakuntala Crossing and Bikram Chowk
3. All PSVs/ Buses/ Mini Buses operating bound for Jammu City from Kathua , Samba, Bari Brahmana, Bishnah, Gangyal ,R.S. Pura, Miran Sahib, Mandal Phylian for the will be diverted to alternate routes v.i.z Kunjwani Chowk, Narwal, Bagh-e-Bahu Crossing , Satwari Chowk , Main stop Gandhi Nagar , Asia Crossing to adopt 4th Tawi Bridge, Baghwati Nagar Rotary, Bakshi Nagar , Canal Head and Toph Bridge.
4. All PSVs/ Buses/ Mini Buses bound for Jammu City from Srinagar, Udhampur, Katra, Doda, Banihal Ramban will also be diverted accordingly from alternate routes viz, TCP Nagrota.
5. All PSVs/ Buses/ Mini Buses bound for Jammu City from Rajouri, Poonch, Akhnoor, Mishriwala, Purkhoo., GhoManahasa and adjoining areas will be diverted at Canal Head/ Bakshi Nagar Pulli.
6. General Public who intend to go from City North towards Railway Station/Airport / South side of Jammu City shall opt following routes during the restriction period:-
a) Indira Chowk, JP Chowk, Vivekananda Chowk, Gujjar Nagar Bridge and onwards
b) Panjthirthi to Circular Road towards Gujjar Nagar Bridge and vice versa. Same routes can be adopted by people willing to go from South to North side
c) Moreover, people who intend to go Akhnoor, Talab Tillo, Paloura etc shall adopt 4th Tawi Bridge via Bhagwati Nagar/ Canal head and vice versa.
