PUBLIC NOTICE

On the eve of Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj, as per past practice a religious Nagar Kirtan (procession) is being taken out on 03.01.2025 at 0900 hours onwards which will start from Gurudawara Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Chand Nagar Jammu and will pass through the following route:

ROUTE OF THE NAGAR KIRTAN:

Gurdwara Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Chand Nagar Jammu, Swami Vivekananda Chowk, Gummat Crossing, JP Chowk, Dogra Chowk, Mandir Masjid Tube, Bikram Chowk, Asia Hotel, Green Belt Chowk (Lighting), Gandhi Nagar Hospital Road, Gole Market, Bank of Baroda Chowk, Sachdeva Boutique, Valmiki Chowk, Shiva Ji Chowk, Khalsa Chowk and will culminate at Gurudawara Sri Singh Sabha Nanak Nagar Jammu.

The general public especially the motorists/ PSV operators are requested to follow the following traffic diversions/restrictions for smooth plying of vehicular traffic, so that no inconvenience is caused to general public as well as to devotees taking part in the said Kirtan :-

DIVERSIONS/RESTRICTIONS DURING NAGAR KIRTAN :-

1. The vehicles coming from Samba, Kathua and Inter-state vehicles shall be diverted from Kunjwani via Narwal Bye pass towards Nagrota and onwards.

2. The vehicles coming from Poonch, Rajouri, Akhnoor shall be diverted through 4th Tawi Bridge / Bakshi Nagar Pulli.

3. The vehicles coming from Indira Chowk bound for JP Chowk/Vivekananda Chowk shall be diverted towards Fly- Over or B.C Road /4th Tawi Bridge (Baghwati Nagar) or as per situation till the procession crosses Dogra Chowk.

4. The vehicles coming from Residency Road bound for Dogra Chowk will be diverted towards 4th Bridge Belicharana & onward journey towards Satwari etc.

5. Similarly vehicles coming from Katra-Udhampur shall be diverted from TCP Nagrota via Sidhra Bye Pass towards Kunjwani and onwards.

6. All type of heavy vehicles bound for Katra, Udhampur, Doda, Srinagar will be diverted from Kunjwani till culmination of Nagar Kirtan.

FOR JAMMU CITY BOUND TRAFFIC:

7. The Vehicles which are bound for Jammu City/Akhnoor can take the following two routes :

a. Narwal, Qasim Nagar, PHQ Chowk, Bikram Chowk and Fly over.

b. Qasim Nagar, Gujjar Nagar, Circular Road

8. The Vehicles originating in between Kunjwani, Satwari and from R.S. Pura side

c. The Heavy vehicles will opt Beli Charana Road and

d. LMVs will come upto Asia Crossing and will adopt 4th Tawi Bridge for further journey.

9. The flyover will remain operational for the whole day with the condition that when the tail of the Procession reaches at Bikram Chowk, the general public can follow two routes:

e. The Vehicles bound for NHW will follow Bikram Chowk, Qasim Nagar to Kunjwani

f. The Vehicles bound for Kunjwani, will take Vigilance Rotary, Flyover to Satwari for onward journey

g. No vehicles will be allowed to use interior lanes of Gandhi Nagar and Shastri Nagar/Nanak Nagar when head of the procession reach Bikram Chowk.

10. All types of vehicular movement on the route of the procession shall be restricted/diverted depending upon the movement/location of Nagar Kirtan (procession).

11. When the Procession will reach Gandhi Nagar the Vehicles coming from Shastri Nagar bound for Dogra Chowk shall be diverted via Last Morh Gandhi Nagar to touch main road (Satwari-Bikram Chowk Road) during the movement of Nagar Kirtan (procession).

* There will be no entry of trucks in City Jammu from 08.00 AM to 08.00 PM

Keeping in view the movement and location of procession, the public in general is requested to cooperate with the traffic Police and follow the diversions to avoid the movement on the routes mentioned above and plan their travel accordingly to reach their destinations.
