Winter Vacations Extended in Jammu Schools
The Directorate of School Education, Jammu, has announced an extension of winter vacations for all government and private schools located in the Jammu Summer Zone due to prevailing adverse weather conditions.
According to Order No. 17-DSEJ of 2026 dated January 14, 2026, issued in continuation of earlier orders dated January 11, 2026, it has been decided that winter holidays will now continue up to January 17, 2026 for both students and teaching staff.

However, it has been clarified that Board Examinations for Classes 10th to 12th will be conducted strictly as per the already notified schedule, if applicable.
Schools have also been advised to explore the possibility of conducting online classes for students from Class 6 onwards during the extended vacation period.
Additionally, preparations for Republic Day 2026 will continue as per the schedule already issued by the competent authorities and must be followed strictly.
