Record growth in solar & wind power in H1 2025
In the first half of 2025, India achieved new records in renewable energy generation:
• Solar output rose ~25% year-on-year, contributing ~17 TWh (terawatt-hours) above previous levels.
• Wind power generation increased ~29% year-on-year, adding ~11 TWh.
• As a result, the share of solar in total electricity generation is now ~9.2%, up from 7.4%; and wind’s share is ~5.1%, up from 4%.
• These gains helped reduce CO₂ emissions by about 24 million tonnes in the power sector, partly by displacing coal generation

“Beyond Limits” art exhibition opens in Delhi
