1. Jnanpith honour for Gulzar & Jagadguru Rambhadracharya
- Renowned Urdu poet Gulzar and Sanskrit scholar Jagadguru Rambhadracharya have been named the recipients of the 58th Jnanpith Award.
- Sampooran Singh Kalra, popularly known as Gulzar (89-y) is celebrated for his works in Hindi cinema and is considered one of the finest Urdu poets of this era.
- Rambhadracharya (74-y) the founder and head of Tulsi Peeth in Chitrakoot, is a renowned Hindu spiritual leader, and writer of more than 240 books and texts, including four epics.

2. LIC launches a non-participating product ‘Amritbaal’ for children
- The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) announced the launch of a non-participating product – ‘Amritbaal’ designed for children.
- It is a Non-Linked, Non-Participating, Individual, Savings, Life Insurance Plan.
- It facilitates the accumulation of a corpus through Guaranteed additions at the rate of Rs 80 per thousand basic sum assured at the end of each policy year from the inception till the end of the Policy term, provided the policy is in force.

3. Indian women clinch historic gold in Badminton Asia Team Championships
- In Badminton, the Indian Women’s Team has won their first-ever Asia Team Championships title at Setia City Convention Centre in Shah Alam, Malaysia.
- In the final match, India clinched the gold medal by defeating Thailand 3-2, with youngster Anmol Kharb’s exceptional performance in the title decider game.
- Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu, and Anmol Kharb and the pair of Treesa and Gayatri registered victory in the final match.

4. Saketh Myneni & Ramkumar Ramanathan clinches Bengaluru Open doubles tennis
- In the Bengaluru Open tennis, India’s Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan clinched the doubles title while Sumit Nagal’s campaign came to an end in the semi-finals last evening.
- Myneni and Ramkumar defeated the French pair of Constantin Kouzmine and Maxime Janvier 6-3, 6-4 to clinch the doubles title.
- Earlier, Stefano Napolitano of Italy defeated Nagal 6-7, 4-6 in the singles semi-final.

5. Udaan actress Kavita Chaudhary passes away
- Renowned actress, Kavita Chaudhary (67-years) who gained fame for her IPS Officer role in a popular TV serial ‘Udaan” telecasted on Doordarshan, died due to a heart attack.
- Kavita Chaudhary was born in Kolkata.
- The actress became successful and famous in 1989 with her role as Kalyani Singh in ‘Udaan’.

6. NITI Aayog and the Government of Andhra Pradesh
- NITI Aayog in partnership with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, successfully organised a 2-day National Workshop on ‘Harnessing Potential of Fisheries in Inland States’ in Visakhapatnam Andhra Pradesh.
- It is a collaborative effort aimed at maximizing the potential of fisheries in India’s inland states.
- The workshop drew participation from key stakeholders including central and state government officials, researchers and the Fish Farmer Producer Organisation.

7. Jain monk Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj dies at 77
- Renowned Jain monk Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj died at the age of 77 after undertaking ‘sallekhna‘.
- ‘Sallekhna‘ is a Jain religious practice involving voluntary fasting unto death for spiritual purification.
- Final rites will be held at Chandragiri Teerth in Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon.
