  1. U.S. May Ease Tariffs on Indian Goods
    India’s Chief Economic Adviser, V. Anantha Nageswaran, said that the U.S. may soon scrap the penal import tariff (25%) placed on Indian goods, and also reduce the reciprocal tariff to 10-15% from the existing 25%.

  2. Indian Markets Rise on Fed Rate Cut
    Indian share markets saw gains, especially in the IT sector, after the U.S. Federal Reserve cut interest rates by 0.25%. The Sensex and Nifty indices both rose.

  3. Massive Monsoon Damage in Himachal Pradesh
    Since the onset of monsoon rains, Himachal Pradesh has reported over 400 deaths and more than 3,000 houses completely destroyed due to flooding and landslides

  4. Launch of Global Digital Health Summit 2025
    Over 2,000 delegates from 193 countries will attend the Global Digital Health Summit in Mumbai from 19-21 September. Topics include AI, healthcare transformation, digital health policies etc.

  5. India-UAE Trade & Investment Push
    Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal starts a 2-day visit (18-19 September) to the UAE to co-chair the 13th India-UAE High Level Task Force on Investments (HLTFI). The aim: review progress of trade agreement and identify new investment opportunities.

  6. India Seeks Equal AI Access for Global South
    At the upcoming New Delhi AI Impact Summit, India plans to push for equitable access to AI technology for developing countries, to ensure they are not left behind.

  7. “Modi Model” of Development Praised
    In Uttar Pradesh, CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated “Sewa Pakhwada” related to PM Modi’s 75th birthday. He said the “Modi model” of development is globally inspiring, citing achievements across multiple sectors (economy, health, infrastructure etc.).

  8. Asteroid 2025 FA22 Flyby
    NASA has alerted that a large near-Earth asteroid, 2025 FA22, will fly past Earth on 18 September at over 24,000 mph. It’s being closely observed, but currently assessed as not posing an immediate threat.

  9. New Raipur-Rajim MEMU Service Launch
    A new MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) train service between Raipur and Rajim begins on 18 September. This is aimed at improving religious & cultural connectivity, especially for pilgrims/tourists to Rajim.
