  1. Manufacturing Momentum in India

    • India’s Industrial Production Index (IIP) rose 3.5% YoY in July 2025, up from ~1.5% in June

    • Manufacturing specifically grew by 5.4%.

    • Merchandise exports (April-Aug 2025) rose ~2.52% to US$184.13 billion, with electronics, pharma, and auto leading.

  2. Combined Commanders’ Conference (CCC)

    • The 16th CCC in Kolkata was inaugurated by PM Modi, held Sept 15-17. Theme: “Year of Reforms – Transformation for the Future” focusing on modernization, joint operations, and operational readiness.

    • Key outcomes: unveiling of the Indian Armed Forces Vision 2047 document; merger of education branches of three services into a unified Tri-Service Education Corps; establishment of three joint military stations.

  3. Blue Port Infrastructure Partnership

    • Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Gujarat on 20 September to review work on the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) in Lothal. This is a ₹4,500 crore project aimed at showcasing India’s maritime history, including a 77-m tall lighthouse museum, floating restaurant, coastal states pavilion, etc.
