The government has approved two major railway multi-tracking projects in Maharashtra and Gujarat, worth โน2,781 crore, to add 224 km of track (doubling & additional 3rd/4th lines) โ aimed at improving both passenger and freight connectivity under the PM Gati Shakti plan.
India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra) revised upward Indiaโs GDP growth forecast for FY26 to 7%, citing strong performance in Q1 and improving macro conditions

The countryโs first global-standard MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) facility for aircraft engines โ Safran Aircraft Engine Services India (SAESI) โ was inaugurated near Hyderabad, covering ~45,000 sq m, with an investment of about โน1,300 crore. This is a big push for India as an aviation MRO hub, particularly for servicing LEAP engines.
As part of defence-industry strengthening, domestic manufacturing and servicing of engines/aircraft components are expected to see a boost โ aligning with broader โself-relianceโ and Make-in-India objectives.

A magnitude 4.8 earthquake was recorded in the Indian Ocean near Singapore early today โ depth ~10 km. No damage or tsunami warnings have been reported so far.
