1. India Maritime Week 2025 begins in Mumbai

The event is being held at NESCO Grounds, Mumbai from 27-31 October 2025 under the theme “Uniting Oceans, One Maritime Vision”

It will bring together more than 100,000 delegates from over 85 countries, and feature major MoUs and investment pledges (~ ₹10 lakh crore+) in maritime, port, shipping & blue-economy sectors.

Why it matters: It signals India’s ambition to be a global maritime hub, links with the “Blue Economy”, and strengthens port/shipping infrastructure & maritime trade.

2. Launch of Exercise Trishul 2025 on western border

India has commenced a major tri-service (Army + Navy + Air Force) exercise along the western border with Pakistan called Exercise Trishul 2025.

Significance: Shows defence readiness, deterrence posture and coordinated operations of the three services. Strengthens operational capabilities.

3. India-US diplomacy: S. Jaishankar meets Marco Rubio at ASEAN summit

On the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit, India’s FM Jaishankar met US Senator Rubio and discussed India-US ties and global/regional issues.

The meeting comes amid intensifying trade and strategic negotiations between India and the US.

4. Observation: World Day for Audiovisual Heritage
