New Amrit Bharat Express inaugurated
On 27 September, Chhattisgarh got a direct rail link to Gujarat and Odisha with the launch of a new Amrit Bharat Express. It connects Brahmapur (Odisha) and Udhna (Gujarat), passing through Raipur, Durg, Gondia etc. -
Foundation Stone for IIT Bhilai Phase B and expansion at other IITs
PM Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for Phase B of IIT Bhilai. In addition, the expansion works for seven other IITs (Patna, Indore, Jodhpur, Tirupati, Palakkad, Dharwad, Jammu) were also inaugurated/announced. This aims to increase infrastructure, research, and student capacity. -
Projects worth ~₹60,000 crore in Odisha; Indigenous 4G stack rollout

PM Modi launched a batch of development initiatives in Jharsuguda, Odisha, totaling over ₹ 60,000 crore, focusing on infrastructure, education, telecom etc.

He also commissioned ~97,500 4G mobile towers built using a BSNL indigenous technology stack (Swadeshi telecom infrastructure) at a cost of ~₹37,000 crore.

GST reform and political commentary
PM Modi praised the recent GST reforms, saying they reduce taxes for people. At the same time, he criticized some Congress-ruled states for allegedly imposing additional levies that undercut the benefits of these reforms. -
Medical education expansion
The Union Cabinet has approved over 10,000 new medical seats under Phase-III of a centrally sponsored scheme. Investment is ~₹15,034 crore. This is part of a larger target of adding 75,000 seats over coming years.
